Chocolate Brownies (Gluten Free)
No-one will ever guess that you made these chocolate brownies gluten free. They are just as delicious as normal brownies!

  • 175 g (6 oz) soft brown sugar
  • 150 g (5 oz) dark chocolate (min 55% cocoa)
  • 125 ml (4 fl oz) vegetable oil
  • 50 g (2 oz) ground almonds
  • 35 g (1½ oz) sorghum or millet flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla flavouring
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  1. Place the oil and chocolate in a pan and heat gently with constant stirring until the chocolate has melted. Remove from the heat.
  2. Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl together with the chocolate/oil mix. Beat well until the mixture is thick and glossy.
  3. Pour into a greased 20 cm (8") square cake tin and spread evenly.
  4. Bake at 150°C/300°F fan oven, 160°C/320°F conventional oven for about 30 minutes or until the top is cracked and a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Leave to cool before removing from the tin and cutting into squares.
Titli's Tips
For extra decadence you can add 100 g of chocolate chips or walnuts or pecans or macadamia nuts into the mixture before baking. Keep in an airtight box for up to 1 week.
