Cheese-Fried Egg
This cheese fried egg dish is simplicity itself and combines two favourite Lebanese fried foods - Eggs and cheese!

  • 1 thin slice of halloumi or kaseri or similar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp butter
  • Salt
  • Cumin powder
  1. Melt the butter in a pan and add the cheese. Cook over a medium heat until the cheese starts to sizzle.
  2. Carefully break the egg over the top of the cheese, turn down the heat, cover and cook for 1-2 minutes until the egg is cooked.
  3. Turn the cheesy egg out onto a plate, season with salt and a few pinches of cumin.
  4. Enjoy!
Titli's Tips
I haven't yet tried it, but I imagine this recipe would work well with almost any kind of cheese!
