Aloo Tikki
Aloo tikki are a very quick and simple appetiser to make and can be prepared in advance.

Ingredients
  • 500 g (1 lb) potatoes
  • ½ cup cooked peas
  • 2 green chillis, chopped
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Oil for frying
Instructions
  1. Peel, chop, boil and mash the potatoes.
  2. Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  3. Form the mixture into patties and shallow fry in hot oil for 1-2 minutes each side.
  4. I told you they were easy!
Titli's Tips
Make sure the oil is hot for frying these. Try frying one pattie first and if it starts to break up or go mushy you need to have the oil hotter.
