Hummus is a delicious Middle-Eastern dip made from chickpeas. In this version I use tinned chickpeas to make hummus in less than 10 minutes!
  • 400 g (14 oz) tin of chickpeas
  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1½ tbsp tahina paste
  • ½ tsp salt
  1. Drain the chickpeas and reserve the liquid.
  2. Add the chickpeas and all remaining ingredients into a food processor. Add 4 tbsp of the chickpea liquid.
  3. Process for 3-5 minutes until creamy and smooth.
  4. Place on a dish or in a bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with cayenne pepper.

Titli's Tips
If your hummus turn out slightly too runny for your taste, add in a tbsp of flour or gram flour and continue to process.

If you want to start from dried chickpeas, then soak 150 g (5 oz) of dried chickpeas overnight. Drain, then boil in lightly salted water for 1½ to 2 hours until the chickpeas are tender. Then follow the recipe above.
