Scrambled Eggs (Microwave)

There’s no need to get a pan out to do scrambled eggs if you have a microwave handy.

Ingredients
  • 1 egg
  • A dash of milk
  • A knob of butter or margarine
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions
  1. Whisk the egg in a glass or plastic bowl. Add the milk, salt and pepper and whisk in. Add the knob of butter or margarine.
  2. Cook for 20 seconds on full power. Remove and whisk.
  3. Cook for 10 seconds on full power, remove and whisk. Repeat until the scrambled egg has the texture you prefer.

Quantities and times given are for one egg. For example, double the quantities and the microwave cooking times to scramble 2 eggs. Times are based on a 900W microwave oven.

The point of cooking then whisking is to make the scrambled egg “scrambled”, otherwise the end result is more like an omelette.
