Chapli Kebab

Chapli kebab is quite a spicy kebab which is great as a starter. They can break up during cooking unless you treat them with RESPECT!

Ingredients
  • 500 g (1 lb) lamb or beef, double-minced
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • ½ onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 2 green chillis, finely chopped
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp cöriander powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
  1. Mix all the ingredients together into a dough.
  2. Press the dough firmly into patties. Place the patties in the freezer for half an hour.
  3. Shallow fry the patties for 2-3 minutes each side in hot oil. Drain on kitchen paper and serve.

Titli’s Tips
If your kebabs break up during frying, try adding 3 or 4 tbsp of flour into the mixture.
